Any employee of any organization that either receives funding or intends to apply for funding from the Corporation for National and Community Service may apply for an eGrants account, subject to the rules of the employee's organization. Each employee who creates an account must be approved A status that indicates an application that has been successfully submitted and has passed the review stage but is not yet awarded by their organization's grantee administrator.
Open the Create an eGrants Account page.
Open the eGrants Login page. If you are logged into the system, you'll have to log out in order to access this page.
Click Don't have an eGrants account? Create an account. The Create an eGrants Account page opens.
Click Create a grantee account. The Become a Grant Applicant page opens.
Click This is my first time. I want to create a new account with eGrants. The Become a Grant Applicant | Login Information page opens.
Click Create a grantee An organization that has been awarded a grant account. The Become a Grant Applicant page opens.
Click This is my first time. I want to create a new account with eGrants.

Enter your login information. Fields for which answers are required are indicated by red asterisks.
Type your First Name, Last Name, and (optionally) Title in the appropriate fields.
Type a User Name in the appropriate field.
Type a secure New Password, and retype that password in the appropriate fields. An asterisk will appear in the field for each character you type.
A warning will display if your passwords do not match. If so, retype them so that they match.
Select a Password Question, and type the Password Answer in the appropriate field.
Type your Email, and retype that email address in the appropriate fields. An email address must include an @.
A warning will display if your addresses do not match. If so, retype them so that they match.
Click Next. The Enter EIN # page opens.
Type your organization's EIN Employer Identification Number. The EIN is a nine-digit number that the IRS assigns to employers, sole proprietors, corporations, partnerships, non-profit organizations, trusts and estates, government agencies, certain individuals and other business entities. .
If the EIN you typed has not previously been entered in eGrants, you will be asked to either click Next to enter information about that organization on the Organization Information page, or click Back to try another EIN.
To create a new organization record
Click Next on the Become a Grant Applicant | Select an Organization page. The Organization Information page opens.
(Optional) Type the organization's UEI #.
Type the Organization's [legal] Name.
Using the dropdown menu, select the Organization Type.
(Optional) Add one or more new Organizational Characteristics.
Click Add Characteristic. The page will refresh with a new Org Characteristics field displayed.
Using the dropdown menu, select the new Org Characteristic. The dropdown menu will close and the new Organizational Characteristic will be displayed on the Organization Information page.
Enter contact information in the appropriate fields. Those fields that are preceded by a red asterisk are required, and must contain user-entered information.
Click Next. The Grantee Phone Numbers page opens.
Type a Daytime Phone.
(Optional) Type an Evening Phone, Fax, and/or Cell number in the appropriate fields.
Click Next. The Review and Submit page opens.
To go back, so that you can associate an existing EIN with your organization
Click Back on the Become a Grant Applicant | Select an Organization page. The Enter EIN # page opens.
Type an EIN # that has already been entered.
Click Next. The Select an Organization page opens.
Follow the appropriate set of directions shown below.
If the EIN you typed has previously been entered in eGrants, you will be asked to either select an existing organization that has the EIN you entered, or to create a new organizational profile.
Creating a new organizational profile for the EIN you typed
Click in the circle in front of Create a New Organizational Profile...
Click Next. The Organization Information page opens.
(Optional) Type the organization's UEI #.
Type the Organization's [legal] Name.
Using the dropdown menu, select the Organization Type.
(Optional) Add one or more new Organizational Characteristics.
Click Add Characteristic. The page refreshes to display new Org Characteristics.
Using the dropdown menu, select the new Org Characteristic. The dropdown menu will close and the new Organizational Characteristic will be displayed on the Organization Information page.

Click Submit. The account is created. The thank you message shown below appears.
Selecting an existing organization already associated with the EIN you typed
Click in the circle in front of the name of the existing organization you want to select.
Click Next. The Organization Information page opens.
Review the displayed Organization Information. Click Next. The Grantee Phone Numbers page opens.
Type a Daytime Phone.
(Optional) Type an Evening Phone, Fax, and/or Cell number in the appropriate fields.
Click Next. The Review and Submit page opens.
Review the displayed information. If any changes are required, click on the appropriate Change or Edit link. You will be returned to the page appropriate for editing the information. Update the information as required and click Next. The Review and Submit page again appears.
Click Submit. The account is created. The thank you message shown below appears.
Message displayed when the account you have created is accepted. Note that you
won't have further access to the organization's records until you have been
assigned an eGrants role by the Grantee Administrator of that organization.
