Stopping the Timeout Process

Like many secure web sites, eGrants will "time out" after a period of inactivity. In the case of eGrants, if you have not saved data by navigating to a different section of the application in the last 30 minutes, the system will display a popup reminding you that the system is open and will, without further action on your part, soon close.

To stop the system from closing:

If you do so within five minutes of the message originally appearing, the popup disappears, eGrants remains open, and your session timer is restarted.

If you click OK five or more minutes after the message appears, a new popup message appears:

Save any unsaved text you have entered on the current page of eGrants. Click the OK button on the new popup message. The popup disappears and the eGrant Login page displays. Log into the system as you normally would.

Saving your unsaved text

Holding down the mouse button, highlight the text you have not saved.
Right click and select Copy from the dropdown menu.
Open a word-processing program , such as Notepad, Word or WordPerfect.
Right click in the word-processing program. A dropdown menu appears.
Click Paste. The text you copied is pasted into the word processing program. Once you have reopened eGrants, you can copy your data from the word processing program and paste it into the appropriate field or fields of eGrants.
