Security

The Corporation for National and Community Service actively monitors the eGrants system and software activity to maintain system security and availability, and to ensure appropriate and legitimate usage. Any individual who intentionally accesses a Federal computer or system (including eGrants) without authorization, and who alters, damages, makes unauthorized modifications to, or destroys information in any Federal interest computer, or exceeds authorized access, is in violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986 (Public Law 99-474). Any evidence of possible violations of proper use or applicable laws found as a result of this monitoring may be turned over to Corporation Management and law enforcement. Any individual found to be in violation of the system's proper use rules or law could be punished with loss of system access, dismissal, fines, and/or imprisonment. By logging onto the system, you acknowledge your agreement with these terms and consent to such monitoring and informational retrieval for law enforcement and other official purposes.

Except for authorized investigations by law enforcement officials, the Corporation for National and Community Service makes no attempt to identify individual eGrants users or their usage habits. However, the Corporation uses raw monitoring data logs to determine site-wide trends in usage patterns and to diagnose system problems. Special software programs are also used to monitor eGrants traffic and identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information or otherwise cause damage to this Federal computer system. These programs collect information that could help us identify someone attempting to tamper with this Web site. Users should therefore understand that there is no expectation of privacy in the use of this Federal system.

WARNING:  Information obtained by this monitoring may be provided to law enforcement officials if it reveals possible evidence of criminal activity.

Unauthorized attempts to deny service, upload information, change information, or to attempt to access a non-public site from this service are strictly prohibited and may be punishable under Title 18 of the U.S. Code, the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, and the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act.
