Monitoring eGrants Use

This system is monitored to ensure proper operation, to verify the functioning of applicable security features, and for similar purposes.

Use of Cookies

eGrants places "session cookies," (packets of information placed by a server within a user's computer and then requested by that server, in order to establish user authentication and tracking) to secure the user's connection during his or her eGrants session.

The following information about eGrants visits is automatically collected via cookies or other monitoring processes and equipment:

  1. The name of the user's domain (his or her web-service-provider's address)

  2. The date and time the site was accessed

  3. The Internet address of the website (if any) from which the user came to eGrants.

Disclosure of Personal Information

Identifying information that is voluntarily sent to the Corporation for National and Community Service (such as a name used in an e-mail) may be retained and is subject to disclosure. Such information will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Act and the Freedom of Information Act.

Help desk associates frequently receives requests from system users for the username and password for other individuals within the same organization. Help desk associates cannot honor requests from staff or external users for the release of any information about the account of another user.

eGrants does not disclose, sell, or transfer any personal information to any outside parties, unless required for law enforcement or by statute.
