Overview
Once an application is awarded, Corporation staff or a grantee may create an amendment to modify the grant award. The Corporation recommends grantees consult with their Corporation program officers before initiating amendments to determine if the amendment is necessary and to discuss what changes to make in eGrants.
To create an amendment, you will need to select one or more amendment type(s) that best describe the changes that you are making to the grant. The list of available amendment types will vary, depending on the Corporation program under which the grant is funded. A brief definition accompanies each amendment type to assist you in your selection(s).
Once you create the amendment, you will be able to modify the awarded grant application. You will only be able edit those sections of the application that relate to the amendment type(s) that you selected. You can select additional amendment types if you need to modify other sections of the application after you start the amendment. Click the “Add” link in the Amendment Types section of the Review screen to select additional amendment types or revise the text describing the reason for the amendment.
For grant awards with prime and sub-recipients, the prime grantee must initiate an amendment to the prime award before a subgrantee can create an amendment to its subaward. Subgrantees cannot initiate amendments unless the prime is also amended.
Note: A grant may be amended regardless of whether it is a new grant or a continuation. However, only the most recently awarded application will be available to amend. If you do not see an amendment link on the last awarded application, this may indicate that there is already an amendment in process for that grant.
